At Ethical Zinc, the safety and quality of our products and the trust of our valued customers remain our top priority.
We are aware of the Therapeutic Goods Administration’s (TGA) recent update regarding sunscreen product testing.
This matter has involved our Daily Wear Light Sunscreen and Daily Wear Tinted Facial Sunscreen.
As a precautionary measure, we have paused sales of these two products while we work closely with the TGA and undertake further confirmatory testing.
We want to reassure our customers that all other Ethical Zinc products remain unaffected.
These products have undergone independent testing at an accredited laboratory and have been confirmed to perform in line with their label claims.

Which products have been paused?
Only our Daily Wear Light Sunscreen and Daily Wear Tinted Facial Sunscreen have been paused. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution following inconsistencies identified in SPF testing.
We are conducting further testing and working closely with the TGA.
Are your other sunscreens safe to use?
Yes. All other products in the Ethical Zinc range have undergone independent SPF testing at an accredited laboratory with strong credentials in SPF evaluation.
These products have been confirmed to perform in line with their SPF label claims.
What caused the recent discrepancies in SPF test results?
Variability in in vivo SPF testing is a well-recognised challenge in the sunscreen industry.
The recent CHOICE investigation showed that 16 out of 20 products returned results below their label claims, demonstrating this is not unique to one brand or manufacturer.
Can I get a refund for the paused products?
We are not currently offering refunds on Daily Wear Light Sunscreen and Daily Wear Tinted Facial Sunscreen. Sales have been paused while we await further information from the TGA.
